Favorite part of NEST: My favorite part of NEST is tubing down the river and meeting new people.

Amelia Jones

Major/Minor: Psychology/Biology

Hometown: Harrisonburg, VA

Favorite part of NEST: My favorite part of NEST was becoming comfortable at my new home early. I was able to become acclimated to UMW and the surrounding Fredericksburg area before new student arrival began. In NEST, I also met some of my closest friends and it gave us the space to meet new people without moving in at the same time as the rest of the incoming first-year students.

Advice for incoming students: My advice for incoming students is to be yourself. You will find your group of people.  It may happen immediately, or it may take awhile, but do not conform yourself to fit other people’s ideas of who you should be.

Fun fact: I used to live on Abbey Road in England (but it isn’t the one from the Beatles)!
