Check out the guides below to think through what you want to “try on” during your time at UWM.

Questions to think about if you don't know where to start!
What do you like to do in your free time - indoors, outdoors, creative, helping others? Do you want something low-commitment (drop-in events) or something more regular like a weekly meeting)? Do you want to try something completely new or stick to things you already enjoy? Do you prefer larger social events or smaller groups? Are you hoping to meet new people right away, or take it slow? What time of day do you usually have free time? Do you like being active, artistic, social or more behind-the-scenes?

Put one event on your calendar. Choose a specific meeting or event this week. You can also scan the campus events calendar for club meetings and tabling.
Lock in your routine. Turn on notification for the org, follow their socials, and add recurring meetings to your calendar so you don't lose track.
Can't find your thing? Start a club. SAE's "How to Start a Club" page walks you through the requirements and registration process.

Steps to Joining Campus Events!

Steps to Joining Campus Events!
What kind of events feel fun to you - concerts, trivia, movies, speakers, craft nights? There are over 450 events on campus each year! Check out these calendars to see what is going on: Dining Hall Napkin Holders (big events), Outside SAE (monthly calendar), and SAE Weekly (weekly events in your inbox on Sundays!). You can also find out events on campus on the TV screens, Sandwitch Boards on Campus Walk and Bulletin Boards around campus.
Do you usually go to events along or with friends? Sammy Squad could be a great avenue if you often go alone, but want to be helpful!
Would you ever want to help plan an event, or just attend? You could try joining an Event Planning Club like CPB, Class Council, and Eagle Con!
Most campus events are free for you! Questions email SAE.
