Transfer Families

• Transfer Orientation is a one-day experience, occurring mostly within the Cedric Rucker University Center.
• Transfer Orientation typically begins at 9:30 am (Check-In will begin as early as 8:30 am) and will wrap up between 5 – 6 pm. Students are encouraged to contact the Office of Academic Services at 540-654-1010 for course registration prior to their arrival. Time will, however, be provided for any additional advising necessary and for students to take care of business they may have on campus.
• During the orientation program, students and their guests will have the opportunity to learn about student life on campus, student accounts, how to get engaged on their new campus, and will have the opportunity to explore educational sessions together.

  • Family Weekend is an annual event that takes place each fall at the University of Mary Washington. Friends and families of UMW students are invited to visit the campus and get a taste of student life.
